We were astounded when we first heard the news of Blueseed’s Googleplex project at the end of last year, the offshore, neutralized, man-made island off the shores of California that will house the leading startup geniuses and entrepreneurs. But the cool thing about the Googleplex is that you don’t necessarily have to be a citizen of the United States to work there, making it really easy for those not withholding the necessary Visa/Green Card to get their foot in the door with the head accelerators of Silicon Valley.

And now the project is closer than ever to being finished, as they progress further into specifics and actual construction. Back in February Blueseed’s CEO Max Marty noted how the setup of the “colony,” if you will, will be somewhat like a dormitory. He said, “[t]here’s a lot of interesting magic that happens in dorm situations [.] [...] [T]he boat is for entrepreneurs from all over the world who want to start companies here in Silicon Valley [...] but are currently unable to do so because of our antiquated visa system.”

Others are arguing as things start developing further and Blueseed becomes more of a reality, that the quality of innovation might not be as high quality as those actually up in the valley. But you never know. Some of the most unexpected, and unknown people hold some of the brightest ideas, and often times the foreign entrepreneurs are the most dedicated.
