Chrysler executives are excited about new line of vehicles.

Chrysler ended 2010 on a negative note, posting $198 million in losses for the fourth quarter. Despite ending the year in the red, Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne is confident about the company's future earnings, pointing to some of its recently released vehicles as examples of what consumers will be buying.

"As Chrysler Group’s brand displays at the Detroit auto show confirmed, the company has lived up to its promise to launch 16 all new or significantly refreshed vehicles in the past 12 months," said Marchionne. "Given the positive comments we have received to date, it can safely be said that what Chrysler delivered last year, on both the product and financial fronts, surpassed many expectations."

Some of the new and refreshed vehicles Chrysler will unveil in 2011 include the Chrysler 300, Chrysler 200, Dodge Charger and Dodge Avenger. The Insurance Institute for High Safety labeled these and other Chrysler models as top safety picks for 2011.

In addition to top safety picks, IIHS keeps track of which models were involved in the highest number of accidents every year. Safer cars generally translate into lower auto insurance rates.
